Longmeadow has 15,853 people and is one of the most affluent towns in Western Massachusetts. It sits on the Connecticut River south of Springfield, and it is almost entirely residential, with large houses on generous lots around a long historic green.

Big houses, and a lot of storage in them

The housing here runs to substantial colonials and larger period homes, many of them with full basements, walk up attics, two car garages and outbuildings. A house like that accumulates for decades without anybody noticing, because there is always somewhere to put one more thing.
